Graphite Health, a new member-led company intent on transforming digital healthcare to improve patient outcomes and lower costs, congratulates its Board Chairman Dan Liljenquist for his recognition by Modern Healthcare as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for 2021. This prestigious recognition acknowledges and honors individuals who are deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be the most influential individuals in the industry in terms of leadership and impact.

“Dan has long been committed to bringing people together to solve large-scale healthcare problems and we are so proud to have his leadership on our team,” said Ries Robinson, MD, CEO of Graphite Health. “Whether through his work at Civica Rx addressing drug shortages or with Graphite Health to accelerate digital health innovation, his vision for the future of the industry will have a lasting influence.”

In addition to his role as board chairman of Graphite Health, Dan is the senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Intermountain Healthcare. Dan is also the lead architect and board chair of Civica Rx, an initiative to create a not-for-profit generic drug company to ensure that essential generic medications are available and affordable to everyone. Prior to joining Intermountain in 2012, Dan served in the Utah State Senate and was nationally recognized for his work on Medicaid and public-sector pension reforms.

Building on a common data language, Graphite Health is creating a standardized, interoperable data platform that enables a secure and open marketplace to streamline the distribution of digital health solutions for both health systems and entrepreneurs. For entrepreneurs, the common data language addresses inefficiencies in data translation and supports the development of plug-and-play digital applications. In turn, health system members can implement trusted digital tools as easily as anyone can download an app from an app store to a smartphone. These improvements will lead to more convenience, better quality care for patients, lower costs, and overall efficiency.

The complete ranking can be found in this week’s issue of Modern Healthcare magazine, and a feature article and profiles of the winners are available at
